LCA is committed to preparing students to succeed in high school and beyond. Our graduates say that their transition to high school was simple because of the preparation they received at LCA.

In 2012, 90% of the class chose to continue their education at area Catholic high schools.

Students in LCA’s middle school have the following opportunities:

  • Qualifying students take Algebra I offered at LCA
  • Pre-algebra classes
  • Extensive opportunities for analysis and writing in their coursework in Literature, English, and Social Studies
  • Choosing to concentrate in either French or Spanish
  • Optional prep course for high school entrance exams

Academic Achievements:

Achievement tests are administered annually—students in 7th grade take the Cognitive Abilities Test (CAT). The Iowa Test of Basic Skills is administered to all students. Our students consistently achieve scores in the top 10% of all subject areas both regionally & nationally. LCA provides opportunities for students to participate in academic competitions throughout the region. Recent opportunities include:
