International Baccalaureate
Lakewood Catholic Academy is proud to be an International Baccalaureate World School
In partnership with Saint Edward High School, Lakewood Catholic Academy is authorized as an IB World School accredited to offer the Middle Years Program, which impacts teaching and learning for students in grades six through ten.
LCA is excited to be the first and only Catholic School in Ohio to offer the International Baccalaureate Middle Years Program. The IB Program at LCA is a challenging framework that encourages students to make connections between their studies and the world in which they live.
IB learners strive to be inquirers, knowledgeable, thinkers, communicators, principled, open-minded, caring, risk takers, balanced, and reflective. The program develops lifelong learners who think critically and creatively, collaborate effectively, and contribute to the worldwide community. IB educators incorporate high quality, internationally researched teaching practices and appreciate the diversity of all learners.
The Middle Years Program is considered the international gold standard of learning, and is present in 108 countries and over one thousand schools worldwide. LCA is proud to be a member of this impressive educational community. Through this partnership we educate the whole student, preparing today’s young Saints to become tomorrow’s global leaders.
