Saints Showcase is LCA’s annual theatre production featuring student talent in sixth through eighth grades. This theatrical review pays tribute to excellence in instrumental and vocal music, acting, and dance performances. It often features some of LCA’s faculty members and alumni who share the stage with our student Saints.
Saints Showcase is designed to give students an introduction to professional theatre, both in performance and in technical theatre, and inspire them to continue their artistic pursuits at the high schools of their choice.
Visual Art Show
The annual LCA art show highlights and celebrates artwork from every single student in kindergarten through 8th grade. The goal of the art show is to give our student artists an opportunity to share their work with an audience. This also allows the school community an opportunity to appreciate all of the hard work and creativity that our young artists have demonstrated.
Art Club is an after school extracurricular that gives middle school students a further opportunity to experience and develop their interest in the visual arts. The goal of Art Club is to further develop young artists’ artistic practice and interest, while providing an open studio environment where they can easily work with others. Students in Art Club will enjoy exploration with many different media, including paint, fibers, alternative drawing, clay, and mixed media.
The Singing Saints is an extracurricular two-part vocal music group (choir) featuring fifth through eighth singers. Singing Saints meet to learn and rehearse music on a rotating schedule of either 5th period or after school, and no audition is necessary. The Singing Saints perform both a Christmas and thematic spring program, as well as other guest performances throughout the year. Additionally, the music ministry team, who sing for various masses and prayer services throughout the year, is comprised of Singing Saints members. Choir rehearsals are more than rehearsing concert pieces; choir members will learn aspects of vocal health and pedagogy, correct posture and breathing techniques, the importance of vowel placement, performance etiquette, and how to effectively use their voices, preparing them for any future vocal endeavors.
Students with all levels of experience are encouraged to pursue their passion for instrumental music at LCA. Even students with no experience with an instrument are invited to join our Band program! Through a unique partnership with Music Alliance, students embark on their musical journey with beginner classes in fourth grade, then have the option to continue instruction for traditional band instruments in grades 5-8. Students showcase their talents for family members, friends and schoolmates each year at our Christmas and spring Band concerts..
