The Amazing Race

Created by LCA President Brian Sinchak, the Amazing Race in Cleveland is the first of its kind in elementary education in Ohio. Each fall, the eighth grade Saints of LCA take to the streets of downtown Cleveland in an academically enriching, physically challenging, and all-out fun scavenger hunt. Small groups of students, led by a faculty member, work together to solve up to 50 clues in a race that gives them the opportunity explore our beautiful city from Public Square to Playhouse Square, from Progressive Field to Cleveland Browns Stadium, and everywhere in between. By the end of it all, a winning team is crowned the champions, and our students talk about the number of miles they ran and steps they took. Throughout this experience, our students learn resiliency, problem-solving, as well as teamwork and the importance of communication.
